Travis Heights Elementary School Fall Carnival 2015

Friday, October 23rd, 2015 from 4:30pm to 8:15pm (CT)

About

Come and help at our annual Fall Carnival! This is a very fun evening for children and families. Travis Heights Elementary is a majority low income school despite being nestled in the prominent Austin neighborhood just off SoCo. We would love folks interested in working game and art booths (e.g., nail painting, hair styling, face painting), food service, set up or clean up (recycling/landfill/compost). Volunteers must be patient and kind with the children, flexible to switch tasks if necessary mid-Carnival..and absolutely must have a great smile and a sense of humor! It's good for your health and the kids will adore you : )

Requirement Details
Responsible high school age students will work. College students have annually been successful as well as other adult volunteers. No children please.
Perks
Food/drinks leftovers - and we have really awesome food/drinks. Smiles from children that will melt your heart. A good feeling for giving to a school that desperately needs volunteers - especially at Fall Carnival.
Parking Details
The school faces Alameda and this street is one-way (runs from north to south). The best way to get to the school is to park on one of the several side streets or near Big Stacy Park/Pool (E. Live Oak which 'T's into Alameda), then walk to the school campus. Call Melanie Greene (volunteer coordinator) at 512.444.1717 if you have questions and definitely map it before you come.
